Overview

With more than 80 years of experience in Impact testing, the Instron® family of impact drop testers are designed for measuring the impact performance of raw material specimens and finished components. Drop tower capacities range from 0.7 J (0.5 ft-lbs) up to 27,847 J (20,536 ft-lbs) for testing a wide variety of plastic, metal, and composite materials.

CEAST 9310 Benchtop Tester

The CEAST 9310 Benchtop Tester is designed for the study of impact on films and laminates using the guided falling weight technique. The maximum energy available for testing is 21 J. This benchtop tester can be equipped with instrumented strikers and DAS 16000 or DAS8000. There are a wide range of accessories available to cover ISO, ASTM, BS, NF, and other standards.

The CEAST 9340 Drop Tower is a floor standing system designed to deliver 0.30 - 405 J (0.22 - 299 ft-lb) of energy. It includes basic instrumentation with a conveniently mounted machine controller for tower operation and basic data collection. Suitable for a range of impact applications including tensile, penetration tests, Izod, and Charpy tests.
