We have an opportunity for an Engineering, Materials Science and Physics graduate who has a serious interest in developing a career in technical sales. As a member of our sales team you will have the opportunity to use your technical skills and knowledge to develop creative and functional solutions to customer problems. Our sales training program initially involves working at Instron’s Norwood, Massachusetts facility as an Inside Account Representative, partnering with a Sales Engineer to sell Instron’s products (systems and accessories) within a specific geographic territory. You will also spend time working in other departments to learn Instron’s products and operations. This first step in the training program is designed to give you a foundation of knowledge and experience required to develop a successful Instron sales career. After approximately two years in this role you will move into a Sales Engineer position. As an Instron Sales Engineer you will be assigned a territory within the US and relocated to that territory. You will be responsible for coordinating all the sales activities within that territory while acting as a highly responsive, single point of contact for our customers, developing new business and managing the long-term existing customer relationships.
This is a unique opportunity and we are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team. Successful candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree and some experience in a sales or sale support role (gained in a part time or summer job, through project work, internships, etc). Specific requirements include:
- Must be an extremely responsive person with strong interpersonal skills and a positive, "can-do" attitude.
- Ability to thrive in a team goal driven environment.
- Ability to relate to and understand all aspects of customer testing applications.
- Must be willing and able to relocate anywhere in US upon completion of the initial stage of the sales training program (relocation assistance is offered).
