Circumferential Extensometers

Description

Circumferential extensometers are used to determine the circumferential deformation of cylindrical specimens

Principle of Operation

A strain gauge extensometer is attached around the circumference of the specimen using a chain assembly. As the specimen deforms under compression, the change in circumference is monitored by the extensometer.
